The Architects Foundation published a call for applications for 2021 on its website in the spring of 2020. The judging panel will meet in Washington, DC in the fall.

What you need to apply

Applicants must:

  • Be US citizens
  • Be registered architects with proof of at least five years of work experience
  • Have sufficient professional working proficiency in French
  • Be able to travel to France for a total of six months split into two or three trips


Application materials

Application materials should showcase some or all of the following items:

  • A proposed research topic on a current issue in contemporary architecture
  • An academic and professional career that has prepared the applicant for the rigors of the program
  • How gaining international experience would benefit the applicant’s career after the program
